Your first four weeks

Sore members and tired coaches are both normal and manageable.

The first month on new programming looks the same in almost every gym. Knowing that in advance makes it much easier to handle.

Your members may be sore

New style, new volume, new intensity. Their bodies need a few weeks to catch up, and some of them will be more tired than they are used to.

Suggest an extra rest day. Take a session as a recovery day and drop the loading significantly. Nobody needs to hit every prescribed weight in week two.

Your coaches are feeling it too

This one gets missed.

The stimulus is new to them as well. Some movements are more demanding to coach. Classes are often busier than they used to be. Adjust their own training for a few weeks if they need it.

What to say when someone asks

Tell them that fatigue passes, then tell them what is coming next.

A member who knows they are two weeks into a pull phase handles the fatigue better than one who thinks the programming just got harder for no reason.

When to bring it to us

If something is not sitting right, bring it to the AFFILIATE chat channel. Frankie and I are both in there, and we want you asking questions.
