Pick your programming point person

One coach reads the outlines and briefs the team. That single decision solves most of it.

This is the thing I see cause the most friction when a gym outsources programming.

Coaches feel out of the loop. They are delivering sessions they did not write, and they do not always know why the session looks the way it does. They may feel out of the loop, or feel like they do not understand the workouts they are giving.

Two ways to handle it

Your staff needs to understand what is being programmed and why, not just what is on the board that day.

You can give all your coaches Circle access and make it an expectation that they read the articles and ask questions. Or you can designate one coach as your programming point person, who takes in the information and filters it to the team.

Either way, your coaches need to be involved in this process.

The fix

Pick one coach as your programming point person.

They read the cycle outlines and the coaching notes, then they brief the team. That is the whole job. It takes twenty minutes before a cycle and a few minutes each week.
