It’s not just a rest week. Learn what we change and why it matters.

One or two weeks sit between every cycle. They are the part of the year most likely to get misread, usually as a week off.
We allow ourselves much variety in these phases, touch base on benchmark workouts, and often run lower impact, lower intensity metcons. The week runs one dynamic lift, one squat, one upper body strength movement from gymnastics or weightlifting, and one or two metcon-only days. Some benchmark workouts come back in. Intensity drops. Volume drops.
Transition weeks let your members shake off the intense focus of the cycle they have just finished and return to more GPP.
Tell them it is deliberate and tell them what is coming. Giving members a clear idea of what we are doing, how we are doing it and when increases buy-in and reduces push-back.
